International symposium recently concluded in Portugal on sculpture

The event was sponsored by the City of Vinhais. Highlights included works by Carlos Barreira, Manuel Patinha, Paco Pestaña, Paulo Moura and Paulo Neves. Organizers say the meeting surpassed their expectations and that they hope to host another symposium in 2007 as well as invite more international artists in the next 3 years. The idea is to get Portuguese sculptures more attention in other nations. They will invest in helping young emerging sculptures to get their work to future symposiums, and evolve their art.
